    Frequently asked questions

How long does it take to import a vehicle to Europe?

Standard transit from Shanghai to Rotterdam or Hamburg is 25–32 days by RoRo vessel, and 28–38 days to Southampton. Total timeline from order confirmation to delivery — including inspection, EU customs clearance, and type approval documentation — is typically 8–12 weeks.

What is included in your Europe import pricing?

Every quote includes factory vehicle price, pre-shipment inspection, export documentation, port handling in China, ocean freight, and cargo insurance. EU import duty (6.5%), applicable countervailing duties on EVs, and destination country VAT are calculated separately and disclosed in full before you commit.

Are vehicles inspected before shipping to Europe?

Yes. Every vehicle undergoes a comprehensive pre-shipment inspection by a certified independent third-party inspector. You receive a 10–15 page report, 30+ photographs, and a video walkthrough confirming roadworthy condition and EU type-approval-ready documentation before loading.

Do you handle EU import documentation and customs?

We prepare all China-side export documentation required for EU and UK customs clearance, including commercial invoice, bill of lading, certificate of origin, and COC (Certificate of Conformity) support files. We recommend experienced customs brokers at Rotterdam, Hamburg, and Southampton for final clearance.

Do you offer warranty coverage on imported vehicles?

Yes. All vehicles include a standard 12-month mechanical warranty covering major powertrain components. Extended warranties of 24 or 36 months are available. Claims are processed through Chinese Car in Europe at sales@ev-europe.com with a 48-hour response guarantee.
